This piece measures 24" tall by 60" wide.
This painting is created over a faux black marble background, which is a technique I developed at the end of last year and have been evolving ever since. The tree, which is sculpted in acrylic as well as oil paints, is created layer by layer. It first started with a silver trunk and branches, which were then left to dry. The leaves of the tree are then sculpted layer by layer in tones of rich gemstone reds and scarlet over a couple weeks. The piece is finished with swarski crystals to add a nice twinkle effect as you walk by. This painting offers a sense of imagination through the use of nature and you can almost feel the breeze blowing as you view it.
