Kintsugi Vase
$2,200.00
This blown glass vase was made by glass artist Evan Seeling.
It is 20 inches tall by 8 inches wide by 8 inches deep.
Each work begins with murrine patterns made within the glass form. The vessels are then meticulously cut, cold-worked, and reassembled into their final sculptural compositions.
The act of deconstructing and rebuilding the original form intentionally interrupts both pattern and profile, creating a dialogue between order and change. The resulting gold highlights reference the philosophy of Kintsugi, elevating each break from a point of loss to a record of growth and renewal.
By revealing rather than concealing these cuts, the work invites reflection on the experiences that shape us over time. Each vase becomes a unique testament to resilience, carrying within it both the history of its making and the beauty that emerges through transformation.
Evan has been blowing glass for over 15 years, inspired by both traditional European techniques and mid-century design. His work uses a variety of color, murrini, cane and cold work to create functional and non-functional pieces of art.
