The backing on this piece measures 48" tall by 48" wide. This piece exemplifies a new technique Cynthia has been working with. Rather than sculpting the pieces upon completing the paintings, Cynthia has elected to "float" them on a birch wood frame. The large scale paintings show a new side of her work, in which the power and grace of her animal subjects shine through her expert use of materials. The piece is on a flat sheet of birch wood and is mounted floating off the backing about three quarters of an inch. The piece was created with acrylic stains and gold leaf.
This painting is currently on display in our Breckenridge art gallery.
